Muay Thai Shorts Size Guide
Brand-by-brand measurements for every pair of Muay Thai shorts we stock. Find the right fit for training and competition, with the traditional Thai cut that lets you kick without the fabric fighting you.
Most Muay Thai brands follow the same sizing. If you have worn shorts from another Thai brand before, order the same size here. A Large in Twins is a Large in Fairtex, Boon or Primo.
Waist
Measure around where the shorts will actually sit. Thai shorts sit on the hip rather than the natural waist. Keep the tape snug, not tight.
Height and weight
Use both as a cross-reference against the charts. Between two sizes on the chart? Go with the larger one.
Fit
Muay Thai shorts have a short cut and an elastic waistband, and they are meant to sit loose. If you prefer more room, size up.

Thai sizing runs smaller than European and American sizing, so do not order by your usual clothing size on a first pair. Measure your waist and read it off the chart for the brand you are buying.
Cut matters more than size
Sizing carries across brands, so if your Twins are a Large, your Fairtex and Boon will be a Large too. What does change is the cut. Traditional Thai styles sit lower on the hip with a higher leg split, while retro and performance cuts sit differently even at the same waist measurement. If you are switching style rather than brand, that is usually what feels different.
Loose is correct
The wide cut and high leg split exist so nothing restricts your kick. A pair that feels snug standing still will fight you the moment you throw a teep or bring your knee up. If you are between sizes, go up. The elastic waistband takes up any slack.
Kids sizing
Kids shorts size by age and height rather than waist alone. Most parents order one size up given how fast children grow. Browse kids Muay Thai shorts.

Common questions
What size Muay Thai shorts should I order?
If you have owned Thai shorts before, order the same size. Most Muay Thai brands follow the same sizing, so a Large in Twins is a Large in Fairtex, Boon or Primo.
First pair? Measure your waist and use the chart for that brand rather than guessing from your normal clothing size.
Should Muay Thai shorts be tight or loose?
Loose. The wide cut and high leg split exist so nothing restricts your kick. A pair that feels snug standing still will fight you the moment you throw a teep or bring your knee up.
I'm between two sizes. Which do I pick?
Go up. Thai shorts have an elastic waistband with plenty of give, so a slightly larger pair still sits fine. A pair that is slightly too small restricts your movement and there is nothing you can do about it.
How do I size kids' Muay Thai shorts?
Use the KPE Kids chart above, sized by age and height. Kids grow fast, so most parents order one size up. Browse kids Muay Thai shorts.
Can I still get help if I'm not sure?
Yes. Message us with your height and waist measurement and we will tell you exactly which size to order. It takes two minutes and saves you shipping a return back to Thailand.
Other size guides
Not sure? Just ask.
Send us your height and waist measurement and we will tell you exactly what to order. We would rather spend two minutes now than have you send a pair back from Thailand.
